On first day 'Fancy Dress' competition, 'Aaja Nach Le' competition and 'Calligraphy' competition were held. On the second day Extempore, Recitation, Coloring and Drawing, Cutest baby contest and song competition were held. Total 150 prizes were distributed among the children for various competitions.

  Silver Jubilee Celebration of MVN :
A magnificent function was held at Maitri Vidya Niketan, Risali, Bhilai on 2nd Feb. 2014 to successfully culminate the Silver Jubilee celebration of the school with Maitri Educational and Cultural Association President Shri. K Sudhakaran. Founder member Smt. Rajam Sudhakaran, Directors MECA S Sajeev & S Sajan, Director & Principal MVN Mrs. Sajitha Thambi, Principal Bhilai Maitri College Dr. Vani Subramaniyam, well wishers, special guests and Alumni. Twenty well wishers and Eight ex Teachers were also felicitated on the occasion. On this occasion the staff members who have rendered dedicated and sincere service to the school were felicitated with Dedicated Service Award.

  'Blessing Ceremony' for students of class XII. :
The ' Blessing Ceremony' for the outgoing students of class-XII was organised at MVN, EMSSS Risali. President MECA, Shri. K Sudhakaran, Founder member MVN Smt. Rajam Sudhakaran, Director & Principal MVN Mrs. Sajitha Thambi, Director MECA Mr. S Sajeev & Mr.S Sajan were present on the occasion. The program commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Speaking on the occasion Principal MVN stressed on the 5D's in life i.e. Discipline, Determination, Direction, Dedication & Deadline.

  Result 2014. :
The result of classes I to VIII will be declared on 26th March 2014 at 10.00 a.m. and the result of class IX & XI will be declared on31st& 28th March 2014 respectively at 9:30 a.m. All the students in school uniform must be present in time to collect their report cards. Bus facility will be provided on that day for the students

  Maitri Vidya Niketan students excel in class 10 CBSE examination :
Maitri Vidya Niketan again proves its excellence as all the students of class 10 came out with flying colors giving 100% result in class 10 Central Board of Secondary Education for the Session 2013-14. Pankaj Manikpuri, Khushboo Yadav,, Mohit Jain, Akansha Verma brought laurels to the school by securing 9.2 CGPA and Priyanshi Soni secured CGPA 9.0. Over all 25 students secured CGPA 8 and above. President of MECA Shri K. Sudhakaran, Directors S.Sajeev, S.Sajan, Director & Principal Mrs. Sajitha Thambi, Vice-Principal Mrs. Beena Sajeev, all teachers & support staff have extended greetings and best wishes to all the successful students.

Students of Maitri Vidya Niketan, English Medium Senior Secondary School, Risali, Bhilai brought laurels to the school by their excellent performance in the class XII Board examination. Out of 125 students appeared in the examination, 40% students passed with 1st division. Raveena Kuttan topped the school with 85.6%, Akshat Sandhaliya secured 2nd position with 84.6%, Samita Dhruve secured 3rd position with 81.6%, Priyanka Sharma secured 4th position with 80.6% & Harish Kumar secured 5th position with 79.6%, Nidhi Singh with 78.4% stood 6th position, Shraddha Sahu with 76.8% stood 7th position, Shreya Thakre with 72.4% stood 8th position & Ritika Rani Bagh with 71.6% stood 9th position. Akshat Sandhaliya who topped in Science stream got distinction in four subjects & Raveen Kuttan who topped in Commerse stream got distinction in all the five subjects. Many students passed with distinction. K Sudhakaran Chairman of the instution, Directors S. Sajeev, S. Sajan, Director & Principal Sajitha Thambi, Vice Principal, Teachers & Staff members congratulated the students and wished them bright future.

  MVN student clears JEE-ADVANCE :
Akshat Sandhaliya class XII brought laurels to the institution by clearing the JEE-Advance Exam in the common merit list i.e of general category,around 1.26 Lakh candidates had registered for the JEE Advance 2014 examination with a total of 27,151 candidates passing the exam.From 27,151 candidates qualifying the exam,19416 candidates were from the common merit list.Students get admission in the 16 IIT's & ISM, Dhanbad through this entrance exam.

Maitri Vidya Niketan EMSSS, Risali organized the Investiture Ceremony for the office bearers i.e. Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice Head Boy and Vice Head Girl with great enthusiasm on 26th July at the school premises. The Investiture Ceremony marked a significant beginning of the new academic session. The occasion was graced by director of MECA Shri. S. Sajeev and Shri.S.Sajan and Director MECA & Principal MVN Smt. Sajitha Thambi.

MVN, EMSSS, Risali, Bhilai organized Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation Workshop presided by Director MECA & Principal MVN, Mrs. Sajitha Thambi for teachers from Class-I to Class-X with esteemed Resourse person Smt. Manisha Mahante, Professor, Polytechnic College, Nagpur in collaboration with Macmillan Publishers India Ltd. On the occation Prof. Manisha Mahante elucidated the methods tobe adopted for the evaluation of students on the basis of formative and summative assessment which boon to enhance the interactive and communicative skills of the students, laying special emphasis on" Neuro Linguistic Program" a tool used to identify the Kin-esthetic students.

'Green & Rainy Day' was celebrated by pre primary wing kids of MVN with great enthusiasm. Children were dressed in green colour displaying the colour of environment and harmony. The children even enjoyed green coloure delicacies in their tiffins and the children enjoyed their day with the rain pouring down their class room window panes.

Maitri Vidya Niketan will be having a special assembly on 5th September 2014 for students & teachers to view PM's live address. All the teaching & non teaching staff along with 1200 students approximately from all the classes will be assembling in the assembly ground and school hall to view Prime Minister's live address to school children. The school will have a screen of size 5'x6' with LCD projector and proper sound system to enable the students to view and hear the whole programme from 2.30 p.m to 5 p.m.
